Blood Work / Ultrasound & Egg Retrieval
Yesterday afternoon around 4:00pm RMA called and stated I needed another ultrasound and blood work done.
I went at 8:00 am this morning and the ultrasound showed the follicles had grown to 16mm – 19mm. I went ahead and let Wendy take the blood draw as a time saver. I showed her the bruises from the blood draw the other day. Of course she did not think that was from the blood draw several days ago. I am not to concerned about the situation as she tries the best she can.
Around 12:00 pm today I received a call from RMA. They want to schedule my egg retrieval for Monday morning at 9:30 am. I was totally shocked as I thought we would not need to be in San Antonio till Tuesday or Wednesday. My Estradiol numbers rose to 1,200. This evening at 11:30 pm I need to take the trigger shot of Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone that supports the normal development of an egg in a woman’s ovary, and stimulates the release of the egg during ovulation, (Novarel). The trigger shot induces ovulation.
We need to arrive at their office at 8:00 am. The procedure is scheduled for 9:30 am. When I arrive we will get checked in. Once settled I will be given a Versed to relax me and then the conscious anesthesia will be administered. While the procedure is occurring Pete will be giving his sperm sample.
We cannot wear any perfumes or dyes during the egg retrieval. This means no deodorant, shampoo, perfume, lotion etc. Tomorrow I will get some unscented soap so we can at least wash up before hand.
Day 10 Shots – Menopur, Follistim & Cetrotide Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) / Novarel
